Card Games

Go Fish

Go Fish is a game where players try to guess the cards their opponents hold and aim to complete sets of four cards of the same rank, known as "books." Press the Play button to start the game (Fig. 1).
Figure 1
Deal
Players cut cards, and the player with the highest rank becomes the dealer (Fig. 2). Seven cards are dealt to each player. If there are two players, seven cards are dealt to each.
Figure 2
Play
The game starts with the forehand. A player asks another player if they have a specific rank of card. The asking player must have at least one card of that rank in their hand. If the asked player has any cards of that rank, they must give all of them to the asking player. The asking player can then ask another player. If the asked player does not have any cards of that rank, they say "Go Fish!" and the asking player must draw a card from the draw pile. The turn then passes to the next player. The following dialog will appear during your turn (Fig. 3). First, select a player, then select a rank.
Figure 3
When drawing a card from the draw pile, if the card matches the asked rank, the asking player can ask another player again (Fig. 4). If a player runs out of cards, they draw five cards from the draw pile. When a player collects four cards of the same rank, they reveal them.
Figure 4
End of Game
The game ends when all books are completed, and all players have no cards left in their hands (Fig. 5). The player who makes the most books is the winner.
Figure 5
You can view the list of books by pressing the Books button in the Score dialog (Fig. 6).
